Madsen has been asking me for a train cake for months, maybe even since his last birthday.
It was really fun to make, but even more fun to watch him interact with. He talked to "Thomas" all day long. It was so cute!
We also had Easter. Cassia looking at the goodies.
Birthday boy with his Easter bunny.
New trucks.
And little people construction and fire/police sets. Thank you Walgreens for the 75% off of on all these cool toys!
Madsen getting ready for his cake.
Make a wish!
Just a little bit about Madsen:
Likes:
Trains - Thomas and his Friends and other trains too, train movies, train books, you name it.
Hot Dogs
Books, books, books
Preschool (homeschool preschool) - "Mom is it a school day tomorrow?" "Yay!"
Scissors - cutting away
Balls
His Teddy
Baby Um (his doll)
Doing hand wash dishes - "can I help with the soapy water?"
Baths
Playing with Cassia
Puzzles
Treats
Dislikes:
Cleaning up
Going potty (after over a year of being trained we still have to drag him to the bathroom often. Is this a boy thing or just my boy?)
Lots of foods - but never the same ones
Things he's learning and good at:
Reading - about a month before he turned 3 his rough sounding out turned into real beginning reading. I'm amazed! He especially loves the new Thomas the Train phonics books he got for his birthday.
Throwing a ball - pretty good shot
Memorization - This kid memorizes every song, poem, and now the articles of faith. He likes his auditory learning.
Kindness - he will always say sorry and wants to make sure that everyone is okay.
Friendly - he's always taking to people everywhere we go, children and adults. He's a people person. Always says the right things to make people smile.
Funny - He's always saying the most silly and funny things
Imaginative - Make believe really has come alive with this one. We constantly ask him things like..."What kind of animal are you now" or "where are you going" or "what are you". It's so fun to watch him in his own little world and to become a part of it.
All and all we think Madsen is pretty great. He amazes us...and of course challenges us too. We're so happy he's in our family.
