October and Fun Times with Grandma

After several years of using Facebook to share pictures with friends and family, we've decided to go back to using the old blog.  Here's what's been going on in our lives recently.  We live in Japan now and our kids are 10, 8, and 6.  We're loving life, even with the ups and downs.  Hope you are also doing well!  We miss family and friends in the states, especially this time of year.  We LOVE having visitors come and showing them around this amazing country.  Here are some highlights from our last visitor!

It was our turtles birthday in October!

Ryan made him a cake.  Happy Birthday Midori!

Near our house.  One of the 1st American traders to come to Japan. There are General Perry things all over Yokosuka

Checking out the firestation open house

Stay safe out there

Out on a hike...glad we missed this landslide!

My spunky girl all ready for picture day

Ryan's an inventor!  He made this tandoor pizza stand.  It's a work in process.  Gotta figure out how to not burn the bottom pizza next time.

Took Grandma to one of our favorite spots

So many little tiny Buddhas in this cave nearby

Happy Halloween!

The famous black egg

Black eggs cooked in sulfur...tasted like....any hard-boiled egg.  Needed salt, which we found later in the bag.
